OnHoldly

Terms of service

Last updated October 12, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you (and the business you represent) and OnHoldly (“we”, “us”) for your use of OnHoldly at onholdly.com (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

OnHoldly helps businesses write, voice and download audio for their phone systems, such as on-hold messages, phone menus, greetings and voicemail messages. It uses artificial intelligence to draft scripts, generate synthetic voices and create background music.

2. Accounts and teams

  • You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract, and give accurate account information.
  • Each account belongs to a team. The team owner is responsible for the team's use of the Service, including the people they invite and the roles they give them.
  • Keep your password secure. Tell us right away at support@onholdly.com if you think your account was accessed without permission.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to create or distribute audio that:

  • impersonates a real person, or claims to be a real person's voice, without their permission;
  • is false, deceptive or misleading, including fake emergency, government or bank messages;
  • is used for unsolicited robocalls, telemarketing that breaks the law, or spam;
  • is unlawful, harassing, hateful, defamatory or infringes anyone else's rights.

You also agree not to resell access to the Service, try to get around plan limits, or interfere with the Service's security. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

4. Your content

You own the scripts, details and comments you put into the Service, and the finished recordings you create, to the extent the law allows. You give us permission to store and process that content only to run the Service for you, including sending it to the providers listed in our privacy policy.

You are responsible for what your recordings say. AI-drafted scripts can contain mistakes, so review hours, prices, phone numbers and other facts before you use a recording.

5. Voices and music

Voices in the Service are synthetic. Background music provided in the Service is licensed for use within recordings you create, played on your business phone lines and related customer communications. You may not extract the music and distribute it on its own, or claim it as your own composition.

6. Plans, payment and cancellation

  • Prices are shown on our pricing page in US dollars. Applicable taxes are added at checkout.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page; your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Monthly recording allowances reset each calendar month; unused recordings carry over for one month as described on the pricing page. Purchased recordings (pay as you go and add-on packs) don't expire while your account is open.
  • Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable, including for partial periods and unused recordings. If something went wrong, contact us; we'll do our best to make it right.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. Changes apply from your next renewal.
  • If a payment fails, your team may be moved to reduced limits until the payment succeeds.

7. Recordings after cancellation

Recordings you've downloaded remain yours to use. We may delete stored content from cancelled or inactive accounts after 90 days, so download anything you want to keep.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available and reliable but can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve, change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we'll give reasonable notice and refund prepaid subscription time you haven't used.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost business. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.

10. Ending this agreement

You can stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we're required to by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
